HITLER: Killed people who were ideologically different than him.
OBAMA: Employs people who are ideologically different than him.
CONSERVATIVES: Advocate the arrest, watching, detaining, and murder of people who are ideologically different.
HITLER: Forced his education, his "health care" (only open to people in the Hitler Youth, by the way), and basically his way of life.
OBAMA: I don't know if the conservatives have gotten this since he only says it EVERY FUCKING TIME, but you don't actually have to leave your health care plan for the government one. Let me say that again. You. Can. Keep. Your. Healthcare. It's just an option and a method to help keep prices down. No one HAS to join Obama's health care program. He's doing it for you, so Health Care companies lower their rates to stay competitive. (Hey, isn't that capitalism? My God, I think it is!)
CONSERVATIVES: Support insurance companies who consider pregnancies a "pre-existing condition", health care companies who discriminate against sick people, and doctors that can turn people away based on differences of faith (hey wait, isn't there a separation of church and state?) I think that many conservatives want poor people to die off, but that's just me.
HITLER: Locked up "prisoners of war" and subjected them to awful torture.
OBAMA: Wants to shut down Guantanamo Bay, except for the actually dangerous people.
CONSERVATIVES: Want to keep Gitmo open and continue awful torture.
HITLER: Tauted superiority of German race above all others.
OBAMA: Employs people of African, Hispanic, White, Asian descent.
CONSERVATIVES: Don't let the only minority - who is supposed to be the party leader - speak at their events. (Let Michael Steele speak for Christ's sake!)
HITLER: Advocated wiping out of an entire population of people.
OBAMA: Never advocated the wiping out of ANYBODY! The only people who mentioned any sort of death camps or panels are Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, and frankly, the two of 'em together don't make a full deck of cards.
CONSERVATIVES: Hate "brown people", and would love to "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran".
HITLER: Known for his fiery, intense speaking style and demeanor.
OBAMA: Is a very level-headed speaker.
CONSERVATIVES: McCain is fiery AND arrogant. Cheney and Limbaugh, definitely fiery. Hannity, Boehner...shall I continue?
Yep. Definitely alike. So alike.
Now, people bring up that Obama, like Hitler, is a good speaker. I have two responses to that. One, it's a little disturbing that the first person you think of as a "good speaker" is Adolf fucking Hitler. Two, I think I know what the problem really is. You're terrified because someone of a race you're used to belittling, with ideological differences from you, can speak intelligently (that means good, for those who haven't caught on). You're threatened by this, and so I say the problem lies with you. Yes you, birthers. Yes you, teabaggers. Yes you, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, FOX News, KKK (and I don't feel at all terrible saying that in the same breath as FOX News), and other scared white people cause lordy oh lordy, someone who looks like someone your family used to flog is leading you.
No. I think if we want to use the comparison of Germany in the '30's, the person Obama probably resembles most is Jesse Owens, which makes you angry conservatives, so pissed off that he ended your reign of bullshit...well, I hope you get the picture.
